I appreciated the series for introducing and fleshing out all the characters, and each book focused on a fakota of characters, but with each new book, they were barely heard from again. Jun 26, Margie Gundelach rated it it was amazing. A large ranch is the primary setting of this third book in the Dakota series about the debble of this community. Just a wonderful book!

The writing itself is smooth, and I have no trouble understanding th Like the Cedar Cove series, this book reads like five or six short stories interwoven with each other, which makes it somewhat choppy.

As Margaret and Matt grapple with issues of trust, other members of the community familiar to those who have read the trilogy’s earlier volumes attempt to cope with a rebellious teenager, a fragile pregnancy and a kidnapping. Once was overlooked, is now coming back to life, by it’s young people, getting married and having children of their own and developing a sense of community, to raise their families in.
The drawing of the characters by virtue of their interactions and interests are what I found most appealing. I also know that the strain on the marriage would have been nearly unbearable once the baby was on the EOW schedule and the women were interacting which would be inevitable.

I felt like their story line was pretty much finished before the book was halfway done, and there were just little tidbits about them later that were neatly wrapped up. They have a lot in debhie, and she does have a womanly side. Debbie Macomber has a knack for making a reader want to explore new places just because she paints them so beautifully with her words.
